About VFP72talk
English (USA)

VFP72Talk is the Internet watering hole for members and friends of Veterans for Peace, Chapter 72, located in Portland, Oregon to openly discuss issues of peace and justice.

VFP72Talk is moderated with a very light touch. No trolling, no personal attacks, but open for the free expression of ideas, and sharing of news. Primary content for the list is expected to be, but is not limited to, news posts, personal opinions, and general discussion of current events. Think of it as a place where we can discuss anything we might discuss if we were sitting around a table at the Horse Brass Pub.

Attachments no larger than 150,000kb are allowed. If you have an attachment larger than that, it will be flagged for moderation. Email author will be notified and the attachment may be uploaded to the VFP 72 website and linked for download. This is to keep subscriber's in-boxes from filling up.

Emails with multiple "To:" addresses will be discarded. This prevents the dreaded "Reply all:" syndrome.

We, having dutifully served our nation, do hereby affirm our greater responsibility to serve the cause of world peace. To this end we will work, with others
(a) Toward increasing public awareness of the costs of war.
(b) To restrain our government from intervening, overtly and covertly, in the internal affairs of other nations
(c) To end the arms race and to reduce and eventually eliminate nuclear weapons
(d) To seek justice for veterans and victims of war
(e) To abolish war as an instrument of national policy.
To achieve these goals, members of Veterans For Peace pledge to use non-violent means and to maintain an organization that is both democratic and open with the understanding that all members are trusted to act in the best interests of the group for the larger purpose of world peace.
We urge all people who share this vision to join us.
